We are pleased to announce a new team that will now compete for 5Aces eSport in all leagues, qualifying tournaments and all other competitions in Counter Strike: Global Offensive. At the same time, we announce the separation from our current team. The team, consisting of five players from Estonia, has recently informed the management that they are disbanding to explore options separately. We would like to thank our previous team for the passion and dedication with which they have represented 5Aces eSport over the past months.

  1. Lars "Jakobsen" Jakobsen
  2. Morgan "Candy" Randeberg Aurdal
  3. Ola Rune "Azena" Jonsson
  4. Sindre Tobias "Kjottmeis" Gundersen
  5. Jarand "Jay9" Flax

Our new team consists of players from Norway. 5Aces eSport is now operating in its ninth country. After teams from Germany, Austria, Estonia, France, Sweden, Finland and with an international team with players from Serbia, Croatia, France, Lebanon we are opening up a new country and are full of energy and euphoria. We are eagerly awaiting the first matches of the team under the flag of 5Aces eSport.

The BOSD breaks down the following reasons why esports are not considered traditional sports:

  • It does not feature a "self-motor, sport determining movement"
  • It's been classified as a "potentially addictive activity by the World Health Organization" and thus a health risk
  • No organizational bridge between the interest oritentation of the sports system and the market orientation of "eGaming"
  • In eGaming, there is no differentiation according to ethical principals. The BOSD claims that "a large number of games are in clear contradiction to this", seeming to refer to the violence in video games
  • The BOSD takes issue with esports being for marketing purposes of the games by developers

After extremely constructive discussions with Captain Lars Jakobsen, we quickly came to the conclusion that this cooperation is very meaningful for both parties. We would also like to thank Thomas Andreassen, a former member of the team, who made the contact to the team.

The new 5Aces eSport squad looks like this:

  • Lars "Jakobsen" Jakobsen
  • Morgan "Candy" Randeberg Aurdal
  • Ola Rune "Azena" Jonsson
  • Sindre Tobias "Kjottmeis" Gundersen
  • Jarand "Jay9" Flax

We wish our new Counter Strike: Global Offensive Team much success and above all fun in all upcoming competitions.
